About the ACH
A shared space for the communities of Croydon’s
The Active Communities Hub (ACH) is a welcoming community space located inside Centrale Shopping Centre in the heart of Croydon.
The Hub exists to support the work of charities, community groups, and local organisations who are helping people across Croydon to connect, learn, and thrive.
ACH provides a flexible and affordable venue for a wide range of activities including workshops, training sessions, community meetings, wellbeing activities, youth programmes, and support initiatives.
Our aim is simple: to create a space where good things for the community can happen.
A place for collaboration
The Hub is used by a wide range of organisations working across Croydon, including charities, community initiatives, social enterprises, and grassroots groups.
By providing an accessible and affordable venue in a central location, ACH helps organisations deliver activities that strengthen community wellbeing, build connections between people, and support those who may need additional help or encouragement.
Whether it’s a training session, a community meeting, a support group, or a wellbeing activity, the Hub is designed to be a practical and welcoming environment for people to gather and work together.
A partnership for the community
The Active Communities Hub is managed by Vineyard English School (VES) in partnership with Croydon Voluntary Action (CVA).
VES coordinates the day-to-day running of the Hub and uses the space for its community English language programme, which serves asylum seekers and refugees in Croydon.
CVA supports the Hub as part of its wider mission to strengthen Croydon’s voluntary and community sector and help local organisations connect, collaborate, and grow.
Together, this partnership ensures that the Hub remains a shared community resource, open to a wide range of initiatives that benefit Croydon.
Located in the heart of Croydon
ACH is located inside Centrale Shopping Centre, making it easy to reach by public transport and convenient for people travelling from across the borough.
Its central location allows community organisations to host activities in a space that is accessible, visible, and welcoming to the wider public.
